Zagara, a corner of Sicily in Milan

In the heart of Milan, a refined store that brings together the excellence of Sicilian products, all strictly artisanal and made following the methods of yesteryear: from organic food to hand-woven and hand-painted spun fabrics with which the skilful hands of artist Eugenio Vazzano create scarves, plaids, jackets, hats, table cloths with macramé, from Caltagirone ceramics with original decorations from the 1200s and 1300s with typical King and Queen Heads to modern ceramics from Santo Stefano di Camastra (produced ad hoc for Zagara by the Fratelli Fratantoni Company), to bijoux that take up the themes of handmade Sicilian carts. Not to forget the leather furniture complements, entirely made with late 19th-century French technique (Samson), the gastronomic specialties of authentic gourmets, or the natural products of Salina’s Signum SPA of high-level Mediterranean fruits for body care. Each item is a piece of “Art à Porter”… a corner of Sicily finally in Milan! FROM THE LAND OF THE SUN Originally from Messina, Stefania Quagliata Vender arrived in Milan a few years ago. In her heart there is always her beloved land, Sicily, with which she maintains a strong bond that has pushed her toward a new adventure: opening a store specializing in Sicilian handicrafts, in downtown Milan. Overlooking Via San Nicolao, between Castello Sforzesco and Cadorna, the showroom welcomes you between ochre-yellow walls, in an elegant, refined and very welcoming environment. Article
